I’ve long been a fan of the Bourne series. Matt Damon as Jason Bourne – the confused, conflicted, amnesiac, trained to kill, CIA prop – played out a riveting, action filled and thrilling plot in the first three films (The Bourne Identity, Supremacy and Ultimatum).
But now, there’s Jeremy Renner. (“There never was just one“).
Renner is a brilliant actor who brings a sort of intensity to his roles. His film resume includes The Hurt Locker (for which he received an Academy Award Best Actor nomination), Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and The Town (for which he received an Academy Award Best Supporting Actor nomination). House MD fans (like yours truly) would also know him from an episode in the series in which her played a drug addicted, reckless musician.
With all that, I’m really excited to see him in The Bourne Legacy and have no doubt that it will be amazing.
The movie also stars Rachel Weisz, Ed Norton and Joan Allen (from the Bourne Supremacy and Ultimatum). And with music composed by James Newton Howard (The Dark Knight, The Interpreter, Blood Diamond), the score is promising to be epic as well.
